Weekly Verse

1 Peter 1:3-5
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. (NIV)

Before coming to have a relationship with the Lord we had no hope. We were living a life imprisoned by sin and blinded to all of the effects that sin has within our life. But once we accepted Jesus Christ that no longer remained the case. For He has given us a new life filled with hope. A hope that not only will be with us always in this life, but a hope and an assurance that we will live with him forever in eternity. It is an inheritance that none of us deserved. But because of his endless love, he poured it all out for us so that we may have life outside of sin. And although we still live today surrounded by all of the sin and all of the evil that is present within the world, we are shielded by God's power until the day comes when everything will be as it was originally intended to be. So this week, wrap yourselves in the assurance of knowing that God has given you a new life. And that no matter what this world may say, you are no longer bound by the old life that you once lived. For today, you are a child of the most high, and through Christ, a daughter and/or Son of the King. May Glory and Praise be to Him always!!!!!
